My Heart for Set Apart

A note from Brittany….

In a world that shoves unrealistic expectations on impressionable young minds and tells teen girls their value and worth are in the way they do their hair and makeup, if they sit at the popular table at lunch, how many social media followers they have, what their body looks like, if they are keeping up with celebrity standards, and how much attention they can attract from others - Set Apart Mentoring desires to go against the grain of “worldly standards” and pour into the next generation reminding them that the only approval that matters is of God.

Galatians 1:10 says ‘Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.’ Later in the passage Paul says (15) ‘But when God, who set me apart before I was born and called me by His grace, (16) was pleased to reveal His Son to me…my immediate response was not to consult any human being.’ What Paul boldly tells those he is writing to is - When God set me apart to show me who Jesus was and to spread the good news of Him, I didn’t look to people for confirmation in that, I didn’t look to human beings for their response. God revealed to me Jesus Christ, I don’t need to make sure others are human beings are ok with that first. This bold truth Paul stands on reminds us that we are called higher, we are called for more, to live freely from the chains of insecurity, the chains of feeling like we need to ‘fit in,’ and we can walk in a confidence that we are set apart to live differently and be a light to those around us. Imagine the power teen girls can hold on to as they walk through the challenges of their daily lives; the power that can change the trajectory of how they handle the adversities that life guarantees to bring into adulthood. Set Apart will guide and encourage teen girls through a mentorship-style approach to build these skills and learn to walk boldly in this truth!

Meet the Founder

Brittany Clark

Hi! My name is Brittany and I am so happy you have found Set Apart Mentoring! My uplifting and encouraging nature led me into a career that spans over a decade long coaching, mentoring, and encouraging the students and athletes I have been blessed to be around - to believe in themselves, strive for more, and help cultivate a positive voice within each young and impressionable mind.

My goal for this program is simple:

  • Foster an environment for teen girls to learn the life skills needed to stand firm and rooted in who they are in Christ

  • Build spiritual disciplines and healthy daily habits

  • Create a community where girls can form deep and meaningful friendships

  • Bridge the gap between teens and their parents; mom and dad are not the enemy!

The Lord placed a desire within me years ago to mentor young women as my heart would ache at the challenges girls face with comparison, the impossible worldly standards set before them, and the inevitable internal battles that are bound to come without a rooted faith and confidence in who they are. I built this mentorship program with 13 year old Brittany in mind; I needed loving guidance, a positive role model, spiritual discipline, and someone to point me to turn to Jesus when faced with adversity.

As teen girls are coming of age, the steady voice of their parents seem to be drowned out by the noise of the world, and Set Apart Mentorship works to build strong bonds between teens and their parents by providing prompted activities and reflections to work together and grow in faith and love.

Please message me below if you are interested in learning more or are seeking a mentor for your daughter with a faith-based approach. I am no priest, pastor, or preacher - but I am (an imperfect) woman of God who loves the Lord and desires to impact young girls and remind them that God has not called them to fit in or blend in with the crowd, but He has set them apart and calls them higher!

Let’s connect to see if Set Apart Mentoring is the right fit for you and your daughter!
